Postgraduate activities
• Master's degree: 11 students have been enrolled and the degree has been awarded to 5 students.
• Ph.D.: 14 students have been enrolled and 5 have been awarded the degree.
• Postdoctoral scientific missions: 1 assistant professor and (2) teachers were sent to Japan for six months each.
Joint supervision: 3 assistant teachers (USA 1- Germany 1- Italy 1) were sent for two years each.
• 17 faculty members participated in the publication of 15 papers in local journals as well as 8 research esthesis in international journals.
• 17 faculty members participated in the department's attendance of 12 international conferences and delivered 15 papers.
• The research project submitted by Dr. Bassem Awad (assistant professor in the department) was approved as part of the university's competitive research projects for 2015 with funding of EGP 180,000.
• The annual conference of the department in April 2014 held for one day at the Faculty of Medicine Mansoura and included a number (3) scientific sessions and delivered a number (15) research in the field of skull surgery (Skull Base Surgery) and attended by about one hundred and fifty doctors.
• The annual international conference of the department in July 2015 was held for one day at the Faculty of Medicine Mansoura and two days in Alexandria in partnership with the Egyptian Society of Neurosurgery and the Arab Society of Neurosurgery and the International Society of Spinal Surgery and included a number of (4) workshops and ( 8) Scientific sessions in which he gave a number of (56) research esthetic supposition (Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery) and attended by eight professors of the largest universities abroad (Canada- America - Germany - Japan).
Graduate development and research
1- Work to speed up the establishment of a master's degree in neurosurgery to keep up with the rest of the departments at the level of the Republic and raise the level of scientific, practical and training for deputies and assistant teachers.
2- Full commitment to fulfilling the brochure of activities before allowing the admission of examinations with the activation of clinical training and training in operations in order to prepare distinguished generations of doctors in the department.
3- Identifying the topics of the messages in order to support the sub-specialties in the department to complete the shortage in the number of faculty members belonging to these disciplines.
4- Support pre-doctoral missions for assistant teachers and postdoctoral scientific assignments for faculty members to learn and training in the field of neurosurgery and establish cadres for different sub-specialties with the help of applying to the management of foreign missions or grants As a Mostafa Musharraf Grant - Newton, England, DAAD Scholarship in Germany and Monpo Jacajosho Scholarship in Japan.
5- Follow-up to provide the library of graduate studies with modern books and participate in various scientific journals related to neurosurgery.
6- Exploiting the cumulative and research experience of the head of the department and being a member of the Standing Scientific Committee for Promotions and the research developer in the department in helping teachers and assistant professors in conducting distinguished research with good value to qualify them for promotion and international scientific publication.
7- Preparing the research plan in the department to include innovative and modern topics that achieve the need of the department in supporting subspecialties and individual interests of faculty members and considering international publishing as one of the most important priorities in this field.
8- Compliance with the decision of the College Council to have at least one research faculty member published in a magazine indexed each university year.
9- Participating in research projects in the college to raise the efficiency of scientific research and find the necessary funding.
10- Organizing the annual conference of the department in cooperation with the departments of neurosurgery in the universities of the sea face in accordance with the decision of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Society of Neurosurgery and the Department Council in order to reduce expenses and in order to ensure the presence and benefit of the largest number of neurosurgery surgeons in the republic.
