Operative theatres
The department's operations at Mansoura University Hospital include 2 operative theaters per day (one for general specialization and the other for branch specialization) on all days of the week except Friday.
The average number of surgical interventions in the department's operations over the past six months has been about 60-75 cases per month.
Attributes the discrepancy between the number of admissions and the number of operations per month to the following:
A good proportion of patients enter as urgent cases due to their critical state of health in addition to entering through the waiting list. In addition to neurosurgery operation take long time.
Due to the increase in the number of patients attending the outpatient clinic for the capacity of the operations, optional and non-urgent cases are placed on a waiting list that has now arrived in some subspecialties such as spinal surgery up to 6 months late.
