welcome our visitors to the website of Neurosurgery Department, Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University According to the ministerial decision No.127 taken on 8/3/2004; The council of Mansoura University made a decision on 22/2/2004 to establish the department of neurosurgery which was a general surgery unit to serve the patients of the east delta. The unit set to work on 1 / 11 / 1991 and the special operation room was prepared, then it became an independent department by the beginning of year 2004 with the new expansion to the department and getting another operative theatre then MD degree was set in the field of neurosurgery for the first time in the faculty of medicine of Mansoura, in the year 2005. Thanks to the great efforts of Dr. / Abdul Wahab Mahmoud Ibrahim, the chief of the department; who is considered the one behind developing the department and placing it in very good local and international level in addition to its contribution to create a new generations of teaching staff members able to achieve both teaching and scientific targets based on international criteria.

NEUROSURGERY CENTER

Neurosurgery Center The decision of Dr. Engineer, the Minister of Housing, Utilities & Urban Communities to establish the three medical centers (neuroscience neurosurgery, obstetrics & Gynecology and orthopedic surgery centers) was issued a number (14) of year 2001 on entrustment of to the Arab Contractors Company on 24 / 6 / 2001, and that according to the recommendation of the Mansoura university council by 26 / 2 / 2001. The work has started in November 2001 and the completion of the stage of bases and basement took place and the discretionary cost of the project 40 million pounds (forty million pounds) as a foundation. Neuroscience and neurosurgery center will be the first specialized center in the Middle East and will prepare with the newest international technologies in the diagnosis and the medicinal and surgical treatment to diseases, tumors and the injuries of the nervous system.

THE TASKS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE DEPARTMENT

In order to involve the faculty members in the administrative work and to fuel the spirit of competition between them in the service of the department and to improve the performance of various tasks to the fullest, the supervision of the faculty members on these tasks was distributed in cooperation with The Head of the Department

1- Participation of the department in medical convoys and continuing medical education programs.

2- Updating and developing the department to provide a distinguished health service that is suitable for patients and enjoys their satisfaction.
