Welcome to the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University

Affiliated with Mansoura University Children’s Hospital, the Department of Pediatrics provides healthcare to newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. The Department of Pediatrics has 11 distinct sub-specialties and includes more than 70 academic faculty members. Many of them are national leaders within their individual specialty field

The three pillars of our mission focus on excellence and innovation in providing high-quality patient care, researching important scientific questions, and educating the next generation of pediatric providers and researchers. In all areas, we strive to be the best, and we will continue making improvements to meet the needs of our most important focus “our patients”. We understand that children are not small adults, and our care reflects their unique physical, emotional, and developmental needs. We know that we could not do what we do without the family members of our patients, who also provide incredible support and adapt to the patient’s needs as we do

In addition to health care delivery, we offer a broad educational experience to undergraduate and postgraduate trainees and provide Continuing Medical Education in all areas of pediatrics. Egyptian fellowship and Arab board training programs are available in General Pediatrics and pediatric sub-specialties. Our training programs welcome both Egyptian and International trainees. Pediatric training at Mansoura University offers the acuity, volume, and complexity of a large referral center within a supportive, individualized educational environment. This balance creates a training experience which ensures that our residents are prepared to become leaders in pediatric medicine. Our faculty are eager to teach, mentor, and participate in robust research programs with our residents

The department also is among the leaders in pediatric research in Egypt and the Middle East. Our physicians and scientists are internationally recognized for their work in a wide variety of areas. They are engaged in cutting-edge, innovative biomedical research
