Residency orientation course
It is carried out twice per year for the new residents joining the residency program at Mansoura University Children’s Hospital
It is a three-day condensed course, followed by a post-test exam
Neonatal resuscitation program (NRP)
A prerequisite for each resident to pass in the first 6 months of residency

Basic life support course (BLS)
A prerequisite for each resident to pass in the first 6 months of residency

Pediatric advanced life support (PALS)
A prerequisite for each resident to pass in the first 6 months of residency

Residency CME lectures
Weekly lectures arranged by staff of MUCH and other subspecialties
Lectures presented by residents and supervised by staff members
Morbidity and mortality meetings
Scheduled monthly to review the quality of the care that is being provided to the patients and to allow clinical staff to engage in the processes of patient safety and it also represent an important opportunity for education regarding these processes as well as for senior staff to model appropriate professional behavior

Journal club
Monthly scheduled
A collaborative conference reviewing recent publications from the pediatric literature, moderated by one of the staff of the pediatric department
Grand round
Monthly scheduled
Topics are chosen to address new information in the field of pediatrics as well as the core educational objectives of pediatric residency education
