The Library Committee meets once a month upon the invitation of the Prof. Dr. Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research for the members of the Committee to carry out the following tasks
Considering the selection of the library’s holdings of references, textbooks and scientific periodicals in which the library subscribes to meet the needs of the scientific departments, based on the suggestions submitted by the library administration
Consider providing the library with modern technical means that serve the purposes of research and study
Consider accepting gifts, grants and gifts that come to the library
Suggesting a draft annual budget for the library in line with its needs
Approval of the annual report submitted by the director of the library
Disposing of the numbers of duplicate periodicals and books that have been invalidated and that the library does not need by distributing them by way of gifting to scientific departments or dismantling them, taking into account that this is proven in lists approved by the committee and kept in the library records
Adopting the dropping of lost books from custody as a result of excessive circulation, especially since the library follows the open shelves system, which appear in the inventory records, provided that it does not exceed 1% of the library’s total contents.
Consider the proposals presented by the library administration to increase the use of the library and improve the library service
Determine the opening and closing times of the library
Approving the internal regulations of the library and submitting it to the college council for approval
