Department history

Mansoura university department of cardiothoracic surgery was established in year 1970 in Mansoura Chest Hospital. Along twenty years after that, only closed cardiac and thoracic surgery procedures were performed. In 1992 the department was transferred to Mansoura university hospitals alongside when open heart procedures started to be performed. Our experiences continued to grow including coronary surgery, pediatric cardiac surgery, and minimally invasive thoracic surgery. October 2020, the department transferred to the current establishment at Mansoura university Cardiothoracic and vascular Surgery Center.
