It has been our continuous endeavor to become one of the largest plastic surgery departments in Egypt, and on the way, we have crossed many obstacles, but we believe we still have a long way to go, and you are here to pave the way to not only reach the goal but also sustain it. In the process of attaining the goal if rules need to be re-written it should be but never at the cost of our values which have been the guiding principles retained by this Department. About the Burns and Plastic Surgery Center
Burns are the most painful injuries, both physically and psychologically. What happens in minutes takes days and months to heal, leaving behind scars, deformities and disabilities, which can make a person crippled throughout his life
The center is the first specialized center in the field of burns and plastic surgery in the middle of the Delta and serves many governorates such as Sharkia - Gharbia - Damietta - Dakahlia - Port Said - Kafr El Sheikh and others
The Burn Unit began operating in 1983 as a unit of the General Surgery Department at Mansoura University Hospital headed by Prof. Dr. Osama Shoman. The service developed with the establishment of the University Emergency Hospital in 1996 AD, but with the admission of a limited number of burn patients to the hospital, which is not commensurate with the size of the four Delta governorates served by Mansoura University Hospitals
On May 30, 2005, the Mansoura University Council approved the establishment of a burn center at Mansoura University Hospital under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Hadidi. It was built on an area of approximately 400 m2 and consists of 6 floors (ground and five upper floors)
The number of faculty members and their assistants has increased, as well as their scientific qualification through missions to medically advanced countries such as Italy, Sweden, Japan and the United States of America to obtain a more advanced generation in plastic surgery and burns
The Center for Burns and Plastic Surgery conducts and develops treatment for acute burn cases, including medical and surgical treatment, and conducts and develops surgeries for burn complications, such as functional shortening and deformities.
Our mission is to put all our passion into our procedures and take care of people as if they were our closest friends and family. We want to provide unwavering quality care to improve people's lives through plastic surgery, burns and reconstructive surgery.
