Dear colleagues,

It is a pleasure to write the introduction of our department page.

It is now 55 years since this department established by late Professor Mohammed Zaki EL-Mowafy. During these glorious 55 years twelve professors had led this department.

Every one of them did his utmost best educating generations upon generations of orthopedic surgeons to the highest standards and pushing the department to the unique position it deserves between different universities.

Today, we had nine specialty units to optimize patient care and medical services. During the last few years the number of overseas trainees from Lebanon, Sudan, Libya and Yemen are growing up. We are planning to keep up with high standard of teaching, training and medical service.
