For practicing doctors, clinical pharmacology provides essential knowledge to individualize therapy, manage drug interactions, and use evidence-based medicine. Unlike clinical pharmacy, which mainly emphasizes the practical application of medicines and patient counseling from a pharmacist’s perspective, clinical pharmacology is a physician-centered discipline that combines medical knowledge with pharmacological science to optimize patient care.
