-It receives patients admitted to Mansoura University Emergency throughout the week, in addition to patients admitted through the outpatient clinics.

- Commitment to make a daily clinical round to patients in the university hospital and emergency according to the schedules set.

-. All operations of the main university hospital and the emergency hospital are each supervised by a faculty member (at least one lecturer)

- Discussing cases in the emergency hospital and making the surgical decision or not an ascending responsibility from the assistant teacher and according to the sequence in the functional grade and the schedule of the on call professor.

- Supporting the scientific activity in the department, which includes arranging the weekly practical meeting and scientific meetings with other departments.

-Activating the Ibn Sina system and training resident doctors and assistant lecture on the electronic data system to enter the data in preparation for the conversion of the patient archive into an electronic archive.

- Cooperation with the hospital infection control department in applying the criteria required to get the rate of infection in the department to the lowest possible percentage.

- Developing the department's own resources through donations from faculty, business men, banks and companies to the department to help in purchasing surgical equipment and supplies.
