Inauguration of the New Chemotherapy Unit at the Department of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at Mansoura Main University Hospital

The new chemotherapy unit at the Department of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at Mansoura Main University Hospital.
The opening witnessed the presence of the
Prof. Dr. Al-Shaarawy Kamal, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Prof. Dr. Walid Mounir, Director General of Mansoura University Hospital, and Prof. Dr. Hanan Wahba, Head of the Department of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine
In addition to a group of faculty members in the department.
It is worth mentioning that the Department of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine receives about 60,000 patients annually, of which approximately 13,000 patients receive chemotherapy protocols of various types (whether on an "external" one-day basis or in cases that require an "internal" stay of more than one day).
The new unit represents a vital extension of the department to accommodate the increasing numbers and provide high-quality care, and it is equipped according to the latest medical standards, as it includes 3 rooms dedicated to chemotherapy with a capacity of up to 15 modern chairs to receive doses, and that this project was done with a generous donation from the people of goodwill in an amount of about one million Egyptian pounds, which reflects the solidarity of civil society with the university to improve the free health service provided to citizens.
Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shouma concluded the opening by praising the efforts made by the team in the Oncology Department, stressing that these expansions will directly contribute to eliminating waiting lists and ensuring that each patient receives his dose at the specified times and at the highest levels of safety and comfort.
