The center is the first specialized center in the field of burns and plastic surgery in the middle of the Delta and serves many governorates such as Sharkia - Gharbia - Damietta - Dakahlia - Port Said - Kafr El Sheikh and others.

On May 30, 2005, the Mansoura University Council approved the establishment of a center for burns and its complications at Mansoura University Hospital.

It was built on an area of ​​approximately 400 m2 and consists of 6 floors (ground and five upper floors). The Burns Unit started working in 1983 as a unit of the General Surgery Department at Mansoura University Hospital

The service has developed with the establishment of the University Emergency Hospital in 1996 AD, but with a limited number of burn patients being admitted to the hospital, which is not commensurate with the size of the four Delta governorates who are served by Mansoura University hospitals, the actual work has been started since 2010 AD
