Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and presided over by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelwahab, liver transplantation pioneer and President of the Egyptian Chapter of the Association.
The conference witnessed wide international participation from leading experts and surgeons from Japan, Turkey, the United States, and several Arab countries, alongside the presence of Mansoura University leadership, headed by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shoma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. This is within the framework of the university's support for the scientific research system and the enhancement of global academic cooperation.
The conference, held on November 27 and 28, 2025, presented an advanced scientific program including specialized sessions and workshops on the latest techniques in liver, gastrointestinal, oncological, and robotic surgery. This event underscores Mansoura University's pioneering role in developing precise surgical techniques and training medical personnel according to international standards.
Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shoma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura, affirmed that the conference program reflects exceptional scientific richness, providing an opportunity for interaction between different surgical schools and enhancing the development of medical performance according to the latest methods and techniques.
He indicated that the Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura places scientific research and the continuous development of surgical skills at the top of its priorities, and that active participation in the (IASGO) conference represents an extension of the Faculty's role in disseminating advanced medical knowledge and training young cadres in the latest clinical practices.
