The State of Kuwait Prize for the Control of Cancer, Cardiovascular Diseases and Diabetes in the Eastern Mediterranean Region is one of several Foundation awards, administered by the World Health Organization, to acknowledge the work of well-known scientists, researchers or dedicated people who have made an outstanding contribution in prevention, control or research in one or more of the following disease groups: cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

 

The prize consists of a bronze medal and a sum of money, which is presented at the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean by the Committee’s Chairman.

Children's University Hospital Nursery Exhibition starts today, Sunday June 5, in parallel with the celebration of the International Environment Day.

The exhibition is held at the entrance to the Postgraduate Studies Department in the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University. Plants and seedlings can be purchased at low prices with official receipts for the sake of the hospital.

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shoma, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University and the Chairman of The Board of Directors of Hospitals and Medical Centers, signed a cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University and Misr El Kheir Foundation - which supports patients of the Gastrointestinal Surgery Center regarding medical examinations, examinations and surgeries at the center. The protocol was signed by Mr. Mohsen El Mokawler, the Director of Misr El Khair Foundation, Mansoura branch, and Dr. Mona El-Ashry, the Early Childhood Development Project Manager at Misr El Kheir Foundation.

The protocol was signed under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Nisreen Salah Omar – a Member of Parliament and the former Dean of the Faculty and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Tamer Abu Al-Saad, the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.

The Faculty of Medicine Council, headed by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shoma, the Dean of the Faculty and the Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, and in the presence of the faculty’s vice-deans and members of the Council honored the faculty’s high achievers of all academic years and wished them further progress, advancement and continued excellence.

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shoma, Dean of the Mansoura Faculty of Medicine,  and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Qura, Dean of the Menoufia Faculty of Medicine, signed a protocol of cooperation in the field of kidney transplantation at the Center for Nephrology and Urology.

The protocol aims to enhance cooperation in the field of kidney transplantation training in the fields of surgery, kidney diseases, anesthesia and intensive care, as well as medical and tissue analyzes, considering the kidney transplantation project at the Mansoura Faculty of Medicine, one of the largest living donor projects in the world and the largest in the number of cases conducted annually in Egyptian universities.
The kidney transplant team at the Kidney and Urology Center trains the transplant team at the Menoufia Faculty of Medicine in the center, then the kidney transplantation operations are started in Menoufia Faculty Medicine under the supervision of the transplant team at Mansoura Faculty of Medicine.

Mounir Armanious Research Center (MARC) is pleased to announce a call for proposals for projects based on innovation and excellence. This grant will be awarded to high-priority basic biomedical research projects with the potential for high scientific impact and/or high user impact, addressing new concepts and techniques to improve health. EVA Pharma will provide funding not exceeding three million Egyptian pounds to the accepted project for a period of up to two years. Research projects with a focus on the following areas will be considered: • Immunotherapy in cancer and cancer research • Multidrug-resistant bacteria • NASH Applications are thoroughly reviewed by MARC ahead of scientific and technical evaluation by an independent committee.
