Professor Dr. Ashraf Shoma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University, announced the addition of two new lecture halls to the faculty, as part of the ongoing development plan to expand the educational infrastructure and enhance its efficiency. He emphasized that this step aligns with the vision of Mansoura Medicine, which respects its students and values their scientific and moral standing.

The Dean clarified that the two new lecture halls represent a qualitative addition to the faculty in terms of capacity and modern educational capabilities. He indicated that they have been named after Professor Dr. Mohamed Ghoneim and Professor Dr. Farouk Ezzat, immortalizing two icons of medicine in Egypt and the world. The first carries the name of Professor Dr. Mohamed Ghoneim, the pioneer of urology and kidney transplantation, while the second carries the name of Professor Dr. Farouk Ezzat, the pioneer of digestive system surgery and liver transplantation, former Vice President of the University and former Dean of the Faculty.

The Dean affirmed that this initiative is a tribute to the contributions of the senior professors who helped elevate the reputation of Mansoura Medicine locally and internationally. It also serves as a clear message to new generations that knowledge and achievement are the path to leadership and academic immortality.

The Intravenous Nutrition Unit, the first in Mansoura University Hospitals and the second in the Delta region, has been inaugurated to serve cancer patients suffering from malnutrition due to difficulty swallowing caused by the tumor itself or its treatment. The unit aims to provide patients with all the necessary nutrients for their lives, helping them resist the disease and continue treatment in good health.

Mansoura University Faculty of Medicine is pleased to announce the commencement of using the Electronic Call System (IbnSina Medcall application) for the work system in all hospitals starting from January 15, 2025.

The application includes uploading all shift schedules for all clinical departments in all Mansoura University Hospitals, and through it, any colleague from any department can be called via this application, which can be downloaded on mobile phones (Android or IOS). Through this application, doctors will be able to see their specific call requests, the urgency of the requests, respond to the requests through the application, and follow up on the requests with colleagues and department heads.

This application was created by Intlaq for Communication and Information Technology at Mansoura University, directly sponsored by Dr. Sherif Khater, the University President, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shoma, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, with significant support from the Executive Director of the hospitals, the directors of the centers and hospitals, and the Digital Transformation Director for University Hospitals, Dr. Amr Samir.

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced the issuance of a presidential decree appointing Professor Dr. Ashraf Mamdouh Ismail Shoma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University.

This appointment comes as a renewal of confidence in His Excellency in this position for the second consecutive time, as he assumed the deanship of the Faculty of Medicine in Mansoura for the first time after a presidential decree was issued on July 2021

Competency Based Medical Education:

Manchester-Mansoura  Faculty Development Program

 

 

This training program will be held on December 2nd and 3rd, organized by Mansoura faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University, and the University of Manchester, which have collaborated since 2006 on competency-based undergraduate medical programs. Mansoura University is renowned for its excellence in health professional education, while the University of Manchester offers its successful PRiME (Professionals in Medical Education) training modules. This event will also launch a joint health professional education research group. The goal is to enhance expertise in competency-based education across Egypt and the Arab region through tailored staff development based on global standards.
