Students of the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University, have achieved honorable positions in a number of athletic competitions at the university level. This comes within the framework of student activity events aimed at fostering a spirit of participation and building students' physical and mental capacities.

This achievement confirms the excellence of the Faculty's students in various fields - academic, athletic, and cultural - and their commitment to representing their faculty and university in an honorable manner that reflects a spirit of belonging and distinction.

 

Mansoura Faculty of Medicine held, on Monday, November 3, 2025, its Annual Student Research Day in its sixth edition. The event was organized by the Mansoura Manchester Research Society at the Faculty of Medicine - Mansoura University.

Under the patronage of:

*   Professor Dr. Mohamed El-Fakhar, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs

*   Professor Dr. Alaa Wafa, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research

*   Professor Dr. Ahmed Nagm, Director of the Mansoura Manchester Program for Medical Education

The day witnessed widespread participation from faculty students across all academic stages, featuring presentations of a number of outstanding student research projects. This reflects the Faculty of Medicine's enduring commitment to developing scientific research skills among its students and nurturing talented individuals within the framework of the university's vision for academic and research excellence.

The event culminated a year of distinguished research activity and was attended by a large number of students from Egyptian medical faculties and faculty members, in an atmosphere that reflected a spirit of cooperation and scientific creativity among different generations of researchers.

The event's key statistics were as follows:

*   200 student research abstracts submitted for participation.

*   60 presentations were selected to be presented during the event.

*   15 Egyptian medical faculties participated at Mansoura Faculty of Medicine.

*   800 students from various Egyptian medical faculties attended the event.

*   Attendance by one of the faculty's icons, a recipient of the State Appreciation Award and the Nile Award.

*   10 faculty members provided their support and expertise in the field of student research.

*   15 students shared their inspiring experiences in scientific research, scholarships, and international publication.

*   10 student research projects were honored as the best participating projects.

*   50 students from the MMRS alumni formed the Scientific Committee.

*   50 students from the Student Union formed the Organizing Committee.

*   550 students applied to sit for the admission test for the Scientific Research School held the following day.

*   Announcement of 5 new student grants, supported by the Mansoura Manchester program, to form distinguished research teams.

The event organizers expressed their pride in the success achieved by the sixth edition of the Research Day, affirming the continuation of efforts to spread the culture of scientific research among the faculty's students and to encourage student initiatives that contribute to developing research and innovation skills.

It is noteworthy that the Annual Student Research Day has become one of the most prominent scientific events at Mansoura Faculty of Medicine, aiming to cement the faculty's position as a pioneering center in supporting student scientific research among Egyptian universities.

A huge thank you to the Scientific Committee, which exerted tremendous effort in evaluating more than 200 research submissions from over 20 Egyptian medical faculties!

Professor Dr. Ashraf Shoma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University, announced the addition of two new lecture halls to the faculty, as part of the ongoing development plan to expand the educational infrastructure and enhance its efficiency. He emphasized that this step aligns with the vision of Mansoura Medicine, which respects its students and values their scientific and moral standing.

The Dean clarified that the two new lecture halls represent a qualitative addition to the faculty in terms of capacity and modern educational capabilities. He indicated that they have been named after Professor Dr. Mohamed Ghoneim and Professor Dr. Farouk Ezzat, immortalizing two icons of medicine in Egypt and the world. The first carries the name of Professor Dr. Mohamed Ghoneim, the pioneer of urology and kidney transplantation, while the second carries the name of Professor Dr. Farouk Ezzat, the pioneer of digestive system surgery and liver transplantation, former Vice President of the University and former Dean of the Faculty.

The Dean affirmed that this initiative is a tribute to the contributions of the senior professors who helped elevate the reputation of Mansoura Medicine locally and internationally. It also serves as a clear message to new generations that knowledge and achievement are the path to leadership and academic immortality.

The fifth exhibition of plants and seedlings at the Mansoura Faculty of Medicine, in cooperation with the Children’s University Hospital

The Intravenous Nutrition Unit, the first in Mansoura University Hospitals and the second in the Delta region, has been inaugurated to serve cancer patients suffering from malnutrition due to difficulty swallowing caused by the tumor itself or its treatment. The unit aims to provide patients with all the necessary nutrients for their lives, helping them resist the disease and continue treatment in good health.
