The Unit Objectives
(1) Integrated medical rehabilitation for children and adults with special needs through verbal, motor, behavioral, and professional rehabilitation to reach their maximum mental and physical potentials, benefit from regular services and opportunities, achieve full social integration and adapt to their communities.
(2) Preparing phoniatricians academically and clinically with a high degree of competence and continuous knowledge of the latest developments in the field of communication sciences and disorders.
(3) Preparing and training medical and support staff in rehabilitating people with special needs.
(4) Improving clinical services, diagnostic and treatment procedures in the field.
(5) Providing educational services and encouraging scientific studies in the field of Phoniatrics and rehabilitation of people with special needs.
(6) The joint exchange of information between the unit, relevant institutions, and associations concerned with people with special needs, both internally and externally.
(7) Raising the level of awareness among members of society and seeking to prevent the factors that cause disability in general and communication disorders in particular.
(8) Rehabilitation in primary health care activities and inclusion of children with special needs in regular schools.
(9) Working to bring about a change in people's concepts, behavior and their view of disability through the transfer of knowledge and showing positive models.
