About us

The Mansoura MS unit is a part of the neurology department in Mansoura University in the new specialized centers.

The vision of the unit is to spread and upgrade this specialty amongst neurologists all over Egypt not only through different universities to improve the quality of health services provided in the country.

Clinical services:

  • Thorough medical and neurological assessment including EDSS rating
  • Detailed revision and documentation of patient investigations
  • Prophylactic and relapse treatment plans tailored for each MS patient implemented under supervision of unit’s highly specialized staff
  • Management of complications and associated symptoms through a multidisciplinary team in different specialties
  • Continuous follow up and documentation of patient’s condition and new events
  • Emergency Multiple Sclerosis management including patients in acute attack (in relapse),

Also, patients with other demyelinating disease as ADEM, NMOSD.

  • Outpatient MS clinic providing service to hundreds of patients monthly including financially supported treatment to MS patients and regular follow up to all MS patients.
  • VEP, BSAEP and CSF analysis including csf oligoclonal bands, IgG index and full culture and cytology at Neurology department at Mansoura university hospitals
  • Continuous research projects in MS.
  • Regular scientific meeting provided by expert staff to teach those who interested in MS about proper diagnosis and managements.
  • Continuous collaboration with other departments as the radiology department to introduce other modalities for diagnosis of MS.
