- Band ligation and injection of oesophageal and fundic varices
- Endoscopic guided biopsies
• Pelvi-abdominal US for diagnosis of hepato-gastro-enterolgy disease
• Interventional radiology through:
- US guided local ablation of HCC
- US guided aspiration of hepatic abscesses and cysts
- US guided insertion of hepatic drains
• HCC clinic for screening and early detection of hepatic tumors, through strict follow up of cirrhotic patients, interventional radiological management of developed hepatic focal lesions through US guided local ablation of HCC, and preparation of patients decided for TACE and their follow up after the procedure
• Hepatic virology clinic which is considered a part of the National Hepatitis Virus Control Committee
• The department also claims the Molecular Genetic Unit in Hepatogastroenterology and Infectious Diseases (MGUHID) utilized in a variety of research conducted by the department.
